Cheesehead/Flatlander

An early skeet shooting event dubbed the Cheesehead/Flatlander is held each year at either the Waukesha Gun Club in Waukesha, WI or the Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville, IL.  This fun non-registered shoot pits the skeet shooters from Wisconsin against rivals from Illinois in a 100 target event.  Although it does not have the intensity of the Packers vs. Bears, it is a fun filled rivalry.

This year was the fifteenth annual shoot and was hosted by the Northbrook Sports Club.  Shooting is open to everyone from either state and the ten highest scores when added together determines the winning state.  This year 92 shooters attended with the Flatlanders beating the Cheeseheads by a total score of 990 to 962.  It was reported that the Cheeseheads were overwhelmed by sheer number of shooters this year, not by superior shooting!

It was a great way to start the year and thanks to the staff at Northbrook for hosting a wonderful event.
